And just like that, two more names from the Colorado Avalanche roster have been named to next year's Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy.
Team Canada announced their preliminary Men's Ice Hockey rosters at 10 A.M. Mountain Time on Monday. Both Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar have been named among Canada's six players.

MacKinnon was just one point shy of being among this year's Hart Trophy finalists. In 79 GP, he tallied a whopping 116 points (32 G/84 A), just 24 points shy of his career best, achieved during the 2023-24 season. The Nova Scotia native was a participant in this past season's Four Nations Faceoff Tournament, where he helped lead Team Canada to a Best-on-Best victory.
Makar's announcement comes just days after he was awarded the Norris Trophy, given to the best defenseman in the league. Makar recorded 92 points (30 G/62 A) in 80 GP this past season. The Calgary native also took part in the Four Nations tournament, winning alongside teammates MacKinnon and defensive partner Devon Toews.
Connor McDavid (Edmonton), Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh), Sam Reinhart (Florida), and Brayden Point (Tampa Bay) fill out the other six players on Team Canada's preliminary roster.
