The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't made many big moves this summer, and now, according to a report, they're eyeing up the best remaining UFA on the market as they look to replace Mitch Marner's production.
This summer has been slow for the Toronto Maple Leafs thus far, with the biggest move that they made being a sign-and-trade with the Vegas Golden Knights that saw star forward Mitch Marner depart the team after nine seasons.
While they have landed Matias Maccelli in a trade with the Utah Mammoth, the team still have some depth issues they need to work out, as the team look to improve and get back to their best after a solid 2024/25 campaign.
Now, it's been revealed exactly who they are targeting with their plentiful cap space, as they are reportedly chasing 28-year old Unrestricted Free Agent Jack Roslovic.
Roslovic hits free agency after one season with the Carolina Hurricanes in which he posted 22 goals and 39 points in 81 games played, and is regarded around the league as the best remaining free agent on the market.
Right now, the Maple Leafs line up with Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Scott Laughton and Nicolas Roy down the middle, so it's unclear exactly what role Roslovic would play, but as a relatively cheap pickup, he could be a solid signing for Toronto.
Around the league, there is plenty of money to spend, with teams having historic amounts of cap space at this time of year, so it's only a matter of time until Roslovic is signed somewhere, and if Toronto want added depth up front after losing Marner, there is much worse signings than inking Roslovic to a free agency deal.
