The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to lose star Mitch Marner in free agency this offseason. Marner is seen as the biggest fish on the market, and there seems to be no shortage of suitors for his services.

But due to the extremely high asking price, there may only be a few serious teams that pursue him. Marner could be a game-changing addition to any team, and he isn't expected to return to Toronto.

There have been all sorts of reports on where Marner could end up, but a few teams have been consistently mentioned. Maple Leafs insider Andy Strickland of Leafs Morning Take named the Vegas Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks as two landing spots for the star.

Both teams have been heavily linked to Marner, and it seems there could be mutual interest between all parties.

For the Golden Knights, adding Marner could help them get closer to winning another title. Vegas was eliminated in the second round of the playoffs, and bringing in a talent like Marner could get them over the hump.

But the Ducks are also an interesting place for him. While Anaheim isn't seen as a contender, the Ducks have the feeling of a team ready to compete for the postseason.

Anaheim would also allow Marner to be in an easier market, after he spent the first part of his career in the wild, media circus that is Toronto. Nobody really knows what Marner prefers, but his free agency could get wild.

Last season for the Maple Leafs, the star scored 27 goals and 75 assists. Marner will likely be one of the first dominoes to drop this offseason, with teams waiting to see what he does.
