With training camp set to open next week, the jersey number assignments for some of the newest Toronto Maple Leafs had been a mystery.

Now much of that has been revealed.

A simple check of the Maple Leafs website on Friday revealed a fresh set of numbers for some of the newest members.

Chris Tanev, who was signed to a six-year deal this summer, will wear No. 8. The same number he wore for much of his tenure with the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames. The veteran wore No. 3 during his few weeks with the Dallas Stars, his previous team.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson is set to wear No. 95 for the first time in his career. His previous No. 91 is occupied by John Tavares and the No. 23 he wore for much of his career is worn by Matthew Knies. OEL signed a four-year, $14 million contract this summer.

After signing a one-year deal with the Leafs earlier this week, Jani Haanpaa will wear No. 28 with the Leafs. Defensemen Dakota Mermis and Philippe Myers will wear No. 36 and No. 51, respectively.

On the forward side, Cedric Pare will wear No. 61. PTOs Max Pacioretty and Steven Lorentz have yet to be assigned a number on the website, but that will likely be revealed soon.

Newly acquired goaltender Anthony Stolarz is expected to wear No. 41 this season. Dennis Hildeby, who had worn that number with Toronto last season, has been wearing No. 35 during the rookie practices this week.
