Easton Cowan picked up right where he left off with the London Knights after returning to the OHL last week.

The forward finished last season on a 36-game point streak, the longest in the Knights' history. His goal going into this season was to make the Maple Leafs out of training camp, but with the depth the team has, plus not being able to play in the AHL, it was decided to send Cowan back to the OHL.

And he hasn't missed a beat.

Cowan has four points in his first three games of the season with London. The points have come in each of the three games he's played, extending his point streak to 39 games, the second-longest streak in CHL history since 2000.

Cowan has passed Logan Stankoven and Connor Bedard (35 games), and Sidney Crosby, who had a 37-game point streak with the QMJHL's Rimouski Oceanic in 2004-05.

The only player left to catch is Alexander Radulov, who had a 50-game point streak with the Quebec Remparts in 2005-06.

Cowan finished last season with 34 goals and 62 assists for 96 points in 54 games. He scored 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points in 18 games. The forward earned the OHL MVP honors in both the regular season and playoffs, becoming the first player in the league to do so since Mitch Marner in 2016.

The Maple Leafs selected Cowan in the first round (28th overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with an annual average value of $904,667 on Aug. 11, 2023.
