Tampa Bay Lightning Assign Defenseman Philippe Myers To Syracuse Crunch - Syracuse Crunch

Former Tampa Lightning defenseman Philippe Myers has signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Myers, 27, spent each of the last two seasons with the Lightning organization, primarily as a depth defenseman. He played in just five games for the Lightning this past season, posting zero points, a minus-2 rating, and eight hits.

Myers spent the bulk of this past season in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch. With Syracuse, he was a key defender, recording four goals, 23 points, 67 penalty minutes, and a plus-29 rating in 61 games. As a result, the AHL squad will miss him next season.

Myers was previously loaned by the Nashville Predators to the Maple Leafs' AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, during the 2021-22 season.

In 16 games over two seasons with the Lightning, Myers had one goal and three points.
