Amazon is expected to run a 2nd season of 'Faceoff: Inside the NHL' and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be well represented with William Nylander and Brendan Shanahan.
Amazon and the NHL partnered up last year to give us a sneak-peak and an inside look in the happenings around the league and some of it's superstars with their 'Faceoff: Inside the NHL' documentary.
Season 1 followed William Nylander, David Pastrnak, Jack Eichel, Filip Forsberg, Matthew Tkachuk, Jeremy Swayman, Gabriel Landeskog, Quinn Hughes, Jacob Trouba, and Edmonton Oilers trio of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisatl, and Zach Hyman.
They aired 6 episodes and they were all theme-based, whether it was rivals like the first episode with Nylander and Pastrnak, an episode on captains with Landeskog, Hughes, and Trouba, or the final 2 episodes revolving around the Stanley Cup Finals.
Season 2 will follow the same boat but will include 10 new players or executives on top of Nylander and Tkachuk making their return. Sidney Crosby, Marc-Andre Fleury, Mikko Rantanen, Sean Monahan, Thomas Harley, Seth Jarvis, Wyatt Johnaton, Anze Kopitar, Zach Werenski, Quinton Byfield, and Brendan Shanahan will all be included.

For fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs, they get to see another season of Nylander but more interestingly will be the behind the scenes look into Shanahan as President of Hockey Operations.
The seasoned veteran was recently this dismissed this summer so there could be some juicy tidbits in there as they follow the Maple Leafs season that unfortunately ended at the hands of the Florida Panthers in 7 games.
The head of Amazon Prime Video Canada, Mark Shopiro, believes season 2 will be better than it's predecessor because we will be given more access to the players than before with a deeper dive into their lives on and off the ice.
"Expect the unexpected. You saw last year in Season 1 just peeks behind that we had never seen before in the NHL and more access to players than ever before. And what we're excited about for Season 2 is getting to go even deeper with the players."
While following Nylander is always fun, seeing Shanahan in his final year with the Maple Leafs might be the cherry on top of the cake as fans get to see what things are really like behind the scenes for executives - primarily because we also know his season ended.
