Margaret Josephs reacted to Andy Cohen debunking Jennifer Aydin’s claim that she’s returning to Real Housewives of New Jersey next season. Margaret called her “cocky” co-star’s comment a “big mistake,” and she suggested that Andy “put” Jennifer “in her place.”
In an Instagram video last week amid the show’s hiatus, Jennifer made an off-the-cuff comment that she was coming back to the show, and she also reacted to a disapproving fan. She said it while holding up a middle finger. After the video surfaced, Andy debunked her claim, and he claimed that no one knows the cast’s future.
“That is not something you say lightly … big mistake,” said Margaret, reacting to Jennifer’s comment on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked. “And you know when Andy debunked it, I was like … she was put in her place.”
“You don’t go around saying those things when we are on a hiatus and a break and no one’s getting the phone call,” she went on. “You don’t go around so cocky and behave that way. I would never be so presumptuous to say something like that, and I think … she was told exactly what the real truth is.”
She agreed with host Dorinda Medley‘s claim that Jennifer’s statement was ‘reckless,’ and she addressed how Jennifer flipped the bird.
“That behavior is not acceptable. That is why we’re having issues on the show to start out with,” said Margaret. “Just, like, dial it back, and everybody should pipe down. And it’s not true.”
“We knew it wasn’t true,” she continued. “No one’s calling her and saying [what’s happening] and not calling anybody else. That’s nonsense.”
She compared the RHONJ break to a “can of soda” they’re choosing not to shake so it won’t “explode.”
“We’re just taking it down a notch,” she added. “And I think [Jennifer] didn’t take it down a notch.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is on pause, and no one is certain who will be back next season. Castmate Frank Catania, however, recently claimed that Teresa Giudice was asked to leave.
