Marvel's Biggest New Scarlet Witch Clue Reveals Another Tease Everyone Missed

A huge WandaVision clue in the latest episode of Agatha All Along has made another hint that preceded it even more important, and we probably all missed it. Agatha All Along has introduced a stacked new cast including the likes of Aubrey Plaza and Patti LuPone, but the most notable addition may just be Joe Locke in his mysterious role, the enigmatically named "Teen".

Scarlet Witch with the Witches Road background

Speculation has run wild on who Locke’s character could actually since be well before Agatha All Along even premiered, and the theories have only intensified now that there is more context to work with. Episode three confirmed that Teen had a sigil placed on him so that his identity would be hidden from witches, followed by a massive hint at his true identity that made a line from an earlier episode even deeper.

Agatha All Along's Teen Just Hinted At His WandaVision Backstory

Teen Is Telling Us He's Been Billy All Along

The most common fan theory has been that Locke plays Wanda’s son Billy, and episode three of Agatha All Along has featured the most obvious Wiccan setup so far. As Teen bonds with Alice, she mentions that 13 was a rough age for her, to which Teen replies “A lot happened to me at 13 too.” The previous episode confirmed that Teen is currently 16. It was also confirmed that Agatha All Along takes place three years after its predecessor, so that would’ve made Teen 13 years old in the WandaVision finale.

Wanda spent all of Multiverse of Madness searching for her sons, so it’d make sense if there were a universe out there where her sons were searching for her. Billy would have a logical reason for wanting to walk the Witches’ Road, as he may want the Road to resurrect his mother. The numerous Wanda references in Agatha All Along so far must mean that there is a Scarlet Witch tie coming, and the inclusion of Billy feels much more likely than a full Scarlet Witch return.

Intriguingly, Teen's hint at his traumatic past also makes a line from Agatha All Along episode 2 now feel even more loaded. It seems, more and more, that Jac Scaeffer's team has been dropping hints that only get more important as each subsequent clue drops.

Agatha's "Child Sacrifice" Line Looks A Lot Deeper Now

Maybe It Wasn't Just About Agatha's Son After All

In Agatha All Along episode 2, when Kathryn Hahn's upstart witch is recruiting her new coven, Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata) hints at Agatha's dark backstory. She pointedly asks Agatha if Teen is "another child sacrifice", prompting theories that Agatha killed her own son to gain possession of the Darkhold. There are other clues that Nicholas Scratch was tragically given up by Agatha some time before the events of WandaVision, but there's more to this.

In WandaVision's tragic ending, Wanda was forced to make a very difficult decision. Faced with the reality of her WestView spell and how she had unknowingly victimized the town's residents, Wanda chose to give up her fake happy life, saying goodbye to her children, Billy and Tommy to free her captives. When the grave deed is done, Monica Rambeau says "they'll never know what you sacrificed for them", confirming the cost to Wanda.

Obviously, Wanda's happy ending was only possible because of her unforgivable crimes against WestView, but the sacrifice absolutely was real. And thinking back to WandaVision, Jennifer Kale's line calling Teen "another child sacrifice" is another of the show's huge clues to Teen's identity. It's not just that he could be Agatha's next sacrifice, he is literally another child sacrifice alongside Nicholas Scratch already.

It Really Does Look As Though Teen Is Just Who We Always Thought He Was

The other possible identity for Teen is that he’s Agatha’s missing son, Nicholas Scratch, which would explain his interest in her. In episode three, Jennifer tells Teen about the rumors of Agatha sacrificing her son for the Darkhold. Teen is initially in disbelief and denies that Agatha would do such a thing, almost as if he knows more about Nicholas’ fate than he is letting on. Some may use his reaction as an argument for his identity as if he is actually Nicholas and knows his mother didn’t sacrifice him.

However, that scene is shortly followed by Teen and Alice’s conversation, which is a massive WandaVision connection for the show to drop. Adding that line of dialogue to the show's other clues - including Teen wearing Billy's Halloween costume from WandaVision, and the idea of him as a "child sacrifice", and it's almost impossible to avoid the truth we're being presented.

Especially considering the information that was confirmed in the first two episodes such as the show’s place in the timeline post-WandaVision, Teen’s timeline matching up with the Westview Anomaly has to be more than pure coincidence. Teen’s true identity likely won’t be revealed until the last few episodes of Agatha All Along, but each episode so far has made a solid case for it being Billy Maximoff.
