The departure of Chris Kreider is something that isn’t easy for all of his former New York Rangers teammates to process.

Kreider spent 13 seasons with the Rangers as he really etched his blueprint on the orgnization, becoming one of the most memorable forwards in franchise history.

The veteran forward’s presence was felt both on the ice and in the locker room, which is why it’s difficult for some players to fathom what life will be without him.

“It’s definitely different. I’m going to miss him a lot,” Matt Rempe said. “He’s a great mentor, teammate to me, but still I see him every day at the gym. It’s good to see him.”

Kreider has been training this summer at Prentiss Hockey Performance in Stanford with a couple of Rangers players including Rempe, Brett Berard, Jonathan Quick.

“It's all competitive,” Rempe said about his offseason training. “We all want to put up the best numbers. I want to be the best in the gym. It's a lot of fun. You've got Quickie in there, he's 40 and still slinging weights around. It's unreal.”

Kreider may not be with the Blueshirts any more, but the legacy and impact he’s made will live on.
