The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers are set to go head-to-head in the annual Rookie Series at PPL Arena on Friday, September 13 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, September 14 at 5:05 p.m.

The most highly touted Rangers rookie that should play in this game is forward Brennan Othmann.

Othmann will be fighting for a roster spot in training camp this upcoming season, so it will be intriguing to see him matched up against opposing rookies.

The 21-year-old recently recorded 21 goals, 28 assists and 49 points in 67 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Meanwhile on the other side, rookie forward Matvei Michkov will be the headliner for the Flyers.

Michkov was drafted with the seventh overall pick by the Flyers in 2023 and after spending a year in the KHL, he makes his way to the United States to play in the NHL.

This past season, the 19-year-old tallied 19 goals, 22 assists and 41 points in 47 games for HK Sochi.

“We take pride in bringing exciting events to Downtown Allentown, and this one is extra special — the opportunity to host two of the best NHL organizations and showcase their top prospects right here in PPL Center,” said Lehigh Valley Phantoms President Jim Brooks. “We want to thank the Flyers and Rangers for coming to the Valley, and we know our venue and community will provide their players with a warm welcome as they take this important step in their playing careers.”
