Maura Higgins lands HUGE role on Love Island spin-off

The Love Island legend has got an exciting new job

While Love Island’s intention is for some romantic hopefuls to find love on a tropical island, over the years it has morphed into a sort of gateway for PLT partnerships, brand deals, and social media influencing. Not that we’re complaining, many of those Islanders were born to post envy-worthy holiday pics on the grid.

Some former Islanders have found themselves on another reality show after leaving the villa - Love Island 2018’s winner Jack Fincham joined his now-girlfriend Chloe Brockett on TOWIE, Love Island 2022’s Charlie Radnedge swiftly joined the SW3 crowd in Made in Chelsea, and Curtis Pritchard opted for something a bit more dramatic and had a stint on Hollyoaks alongside his brother, AJ Pritchard.

Many Islanders have also headed back into the villa for All Stars or, in Adam Collard and Kady McDermott’s case, right back onto a new series. While Maura Higgins also returned to the villa, it was in a very different capacity, and now she has announced that she’ll once again be re-entering the Love Island world.

Maura has been tapped as the next Love Island Aftersun host on Peacock over in the US, not to be confused with Maya Jama or the panellists over here for the UK version - MIC’s Sam Thompson, Love Island 2022 Islander Indiyah Polack, Love Island 2019’s Amy Hart, and All Star Islander Chris Taylor.

Maura will host a weekly chat series where she'll be joined by the latest unlucky Islanders to be kicked out of the villa. This news comes after Maura’s successful stint as the social host for the Love Island Games spin-off last year.

While we’d admittedly love to see her back on a UK series, this new hosting gig ensures that she won’t be a surprise bombshell for Love Island 2024. The latest series has been knocking it out of the park with their bombshells so far, Joey Essex and Uma Jammeh setting the bar high.

While we’re obviously buzzed for the honorary queen of Ireland Ms. Maura Higgins, we have also heard that she’s possibly single, so if she could cool it with all the hosting gigs for five seconds and slow-mo walk into the All Stars villa we’d be eternally grateful.

Either way, we’re blessed to have her on our screens, even if it is all the way over in America.
