Another Real Housewives of Salt Lake City husband is finding himself in the crossfire, per an exclusive clip from this week’s episode in which Shawn Trujillo, husband of Angie Katsanevas, has it out with Meredith Marks over the false rumors that were spread about his sexuality last year.
The married couple previously accused Marks of starting and spreading rumors that Trujillo cheated on Katsanevas with men. While Marks has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, she did take the opportunity to apologize to Trujillo for everything that went down.
But when she mentioned the “hurtful” remarks Trujillo had subsequently made about her son Brooks in their conversation, she didn’t get the apology she was seeking.
Therefore, Marks decided to bring it up again — two weeks after the fact — at a cast dinner in Palm Springs.
“I have to be honest, I walked away a little hurt and upset. I felt like I gave you a heartfelt apology over something I didn’t even do just because I felt badly that you went through it,” she told Trujillo. “And I told you that I was hurt by something you said about my son and you didn’t apologize to me.”
This only angered Trujillo, who said he walked away from their conversation thinking they had resolved their issues.
“And now you bring it back up and we’re not good,” he continued. “That’s a little bit irritating, first and foremost. I think we probably could’ve handled it that night. I walked away feeling good about our conversation.”
But Marks chimed in, “I didn’t. I was highly apologetic to you for something I didn’t do and told you that I was hurt by a comment you made. And all I wanted was, ‘I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that about your child.’”
The reality star — who, according to Katsanevas, had made a video saying she would “never” discuss someone’s sexuality as her son is gay —was referring to a remark Trujillo had made on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast back in October 2023.
“She’s a smart woman, and I think she took the opportunity to leverage her son and things like that, knowing that this didn’t land quite the way they wanted it to,” he said, per RealityTea. “I think she tried to leverage that as a sort of a way out and sort of a pivot for her.”
In the clip from this week’s episode, Marks felt he was accusing her of “using my son’s sexuality to deflect from my own bad behavior.”
