The Messiest Move of the Week belongs to Mariah. She topped everyone when she confessed to Sharon about a dark secret that she couldn’t tell Tessa. This could forever rock their world. But not telling Tessa is already a messy move and will only make things worse on The Young and the Restless.

What’s Going On With Mariah?

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) sure didn’t look happy to be home. That’s because she regrets what she did while she was away. She waited for Sharon’s (Sharon Case) return from London. Mariah confessed that she’s done something horrible during her business trip. It’s something that would Ian (Ray Wise) proud.

His return dug up Mariah’s trauma, which she repressed over the years. When she found herself alone, she got drunk, and did something that would hurt Tessa. Mariah admitted that she’s still caught under Ian’s spell. That grooming doesn’t just go away overnight. It sticks with you.

Mariah told Sharon that she doesn’t want Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) to ever find out what happened that night. Sharon didn’t press for questions. She didn’t need to know what her daughter did. (But we do!) Instead, she assured Mariah that she wasn’t a bad person. Mariah proclaimed that she’s not a big person and that she will take this secret to her grave.

Why It’s Messy

Mariah’s secret has us wondering what she’s done. Some Y&R fans wonder if she cheated on Tessa. However, this wasn’t the first time she wasn’t faithful. In 2020, Mariah slept with Lindsay (Kirby Bliss Blanton), while Tessa was touring with her ex-husband Tanner (Chase Coleman). In Mariah’s defense, she was feeling lonesome and was jealous of Tessa’s close relationship with her ex.

Whatever secret Mariah’s keeping, it’s already messy not to tell her wife. After all, this will only draw Tessa closer to Daniel (Michael Graziadei). The two have been making sweet music together and that could bring up new feelings. Meanwhile, Tessa can’t help but notice that Mariah is more standoffish than usual. If Mariah wants to save her marriage, she should be forthcoming. Tessa forgave her before, so Mariaih could her a chance instead of jumping to conclusions, in usual Mariah fashion.
