Mia Thornton Announces She is Leaving RHOP After Four Seasons, Hints at Potential Crossover to RHOA

Mia Thornton confirmed her departure from The Real Housewives of Potomac on Instagram on Monday ahead of the series’ 10th season.

Several weeks after storming out of the season nine reunion, and after former cast member Candiace Dillard-Bassett, 38, hinted at her return to the show, Mia, 40, released a statement to her fans and followers, and she seemingly hinted at the idea of crossing over to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“With every new season comes a new beginning and I have some news to share. My family and I have made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season,” Mia wrote on Instagram on April 21.

“The past four seasons have been an unforgettable journey one filled with growth, lessons, and so many incredible memories. I want to thank Truly Original, Bravo, NBCUniversal, and Andy Cohen for believing in me and giving me the space to share my story. To my castmates: thank you for the laughs, the lessons, and the unforgettable moments. And to the amazing fans, your love and support has meant everything to me. I’ll always carry that with me,” she continued. “This next chapter is already full of exciting opportunities, and I can’t wait to take you all along for the ride. Big things are coming.”

Mia also shared a quote, which read, “I don’t just make headlines — I make History. Atlanta, brace yourself. The empire has expanded.” She included the hashtag, “Legacy in the Making.”

Mia, who joined the show for season six in 2021, announced a move to Georgia earlier this month, quickly sparking rumors of a potential role on RHOA. And in the comments section of her exit announcement on Monday, fans weighed in on the possibility.

“Please join Atlanta Housewives,” one person wrote.

Another asked, “You going to RHOA?” A third suspected, “She’s gonna be on RHOA.”

“I really hope that you will be [a part] of RHOA next season! You need to be around some YOUNG, Turnt, PRETTY girls that like to have fun! I could see you getting along with [Brittany ‘Brit’ Eady] and [Kelli Ferrell], you’ll fit right in,” someone else concluded.
