It’s natural to expect some fallout from Mia’s departure. Although her exit from RHOP isn’t that much of a surprise. She left the Season 9 reunion early and hinted, and later confirmed a move to Atlanta. So it’s 100% official, Mia’s flute is no more. However as far as she’s concerned, that doesn’t mean people shouldn’t watch what they say about her.

It’s been an up and down season for Mia on RHOP. She came under fire for statements she made about her messy divorce from Gordon Thornton and she said a few questionable things.

During the girls’ trip to Panama, Mia revealed that Gordon took the kids and she didn’t know where they were. She discovered they were with her former nanny and made a questionable decision after. She went to Atlanta to see her boyfriend after leaving Panama.

Some of the RHOP girls took issue with this plan. Gizelle, in particular, called Mia a “terrible mother” and was not surprised at all when news broke that Mia was leaving the show. In fact, she dropped some shade and said, Mia’s “time of lying” was over.

People will talk. That’s par for the course for reality TV and the Real Housewives in particular. But Mia tried to nip that in the bud by issuing a “legal warning” on social media. In a now deleted post, she warned her former castmates that defamation and lies about a person’s character.

She wrote, “Let this be a gentle reminder, freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom without consequences. Before you SPEAK on my name publicly, make sure it’s the TRUTH. Or make sure you’re ready to prove it in court. I’m no longer allowing anyone to play on my reputation.”

She concluded the message by saying, “Take me out of the group chat, I don’t want to play in your sandbox anymore.”

Fans had mixed reactions about the post with many saying she was overreacting. One fan even said, “You know there is a leave group chat option,” highlighting that Mia could choose to leave the narrative herself.
