Michael Bradway is leaving “Chicago Fire” after landing role in “Every Summer After” adaptation

Jack Damon isn't going to be seen much around Firehouse 51.

Entertainment Weekly has learned that Michael Bradway, who plays Severide's (Taylor Kinney) half-brother on Chicago Fire, won't return for season 14 due to scheduling conflicts.

This news comes after the actor landed the role of Charlie Florek in the upcoming Prime Video adaptation of Carley Fortune's novel Every Summer After, titled Every Year After. And while Charlie might not be part of the central romance in that book — that belongs to his brother Sam (Matt Cornett) and Percy (Sadie Soverall) — there's potential Bradway could be playing the role for a while, given that Fortune's latest novel, One Golden Summer, returns to Barry's Bay for Charlie's love story.

Bradway first appeared in season 12 of Chicago Fire, where his motives seemed ... questionable at best. But it turned out, his secret wasn't too sinister, and he ended up bonding with his brother. And yet, he wasn't the right fit for the 51 family.

However, after some time away from both the firehouse and from Severide, he made his triumphant return in season 13 and finally seemed to find his place. He even found romance with Novak (Jocelyn Hudon). And yet, when the show returns for its upcoming 14th season, Damon won't be part of it.

That being said, should schedules allow, a source tells EW that Chicago Fire is open to the possibility of him coming back in the future.
