The knot tying up the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs at the top of the MLB standing was momentarily untied on Monday after the former pulled off a gutsy win at home against their top rival.

The Brewers are on a run and they are the hottest team right now. Still to their players, they don’t think they were the one who should feel the more pressure to win their series against their state rivals.
Cubs came out strong in the first inning by posting three runs when super rookie Jacob Misiorowski pitched for them as a starter. The Brewers were able to recover in the next three by not allowing another run from their visitors.
They also scored four runs themselves in the third inning one and then added one each in the fifth and sixth inning lead. Sal Frelick, Christian Yelich, William Contreras, and Andrew Vaughn all had two runs each.

The win now gives them the bets record in the MLB at 63-43, one whole game above the Cubs in the NL Central.
Christian Yelich says Milwaukee Brewers isn’t supposed to be at the top
There’s something freeing about playing without any pressure and that’s what the Brewers felt heading into the first of three-game series with their rivals.
Milwaukee’s odds to win the title before the start of the season was outside of the Top 10 and they are enjoying such take.
“You know, our team doesn’t feel any pressure,” Yelich said.
“We feel like no one really expects us to be in this spot anyway.”

As for the Cubs, he thinks of them highly because of their offseason moves and current superior line-up. This, however, translates to heavier chip on their shoulder.
“They’re supposed to win the division. They’re supposed to have the high expectations,” Yelich said.
“They have half our coaching staff, they made a bunch of trades, so if they don’t win the division, I’m sure it would be pretty disappointing. For us, we’re just trying to make life tough on them and the rest of the league and seeing what we can do. That’s always been our model around here.”
