“Can’t wait until I can give you my last name!" the athlete wrote to his future wife on Instagram
The NFL player, 24, and his new fiancée, McKenzie Paige, announced the happy news on social media alongside photos of the proposal, which featured a romantic setup in front of a green mountain landscape.
Ivan initially shared the proposal photos in a since-expired post on his Instagram Stories. He also re-shared a post from McKenzie featuring a photo of the pair with their arms around each other as they celebrated the happy occasion.
McKenzie, who is a registered nurse in Minnesota, shared photos from the proposal on her own Instagram, including a snap of the newly engaged couple holding hands in front of a heart-shaped balloon arch with the words, “Will you marry me?” hanging from it. Two stands displayed photos of the couple.
The pair both wore white for the occasion, with Ivan sporting a white button-up shirt with light gray slacks and white shoes. McKenzie had her hair styled in short ringlets and wore a long white dress that turned sheer above her knees.
Follow-up photos show Ivan holding McKenzie's hands as he asked her to marry him. Another shot captures the NFL player bent over in laughter while holding McKenzie's hands as she also laughed.
A final photo shows a close-up of the engagement ring that Ivan presented to his bride-to-be as she wrapped her arms around him. It appeared to feature an oval-shaped diamond surrounded by a pavé set of smaller diamonds.
“Today, tomorrow, forever… together is my favorite place to be,” McKenzie captioned the photo. “Loving you has been the most natural, unexpected, and extraordinary thing I’ve ever known.”
"You are my greatest adventure, my safest place, and the love I never saw coming but always needed. Cheers to forever!” she added.
In the comments, Ivan responded, “I love you very much. Can’t wait until I can give you my last name !! 💚 224.”The couple is not afraid to share their love for each other on social media.
On Valentine's Day, McKenzie posted several photos of the two during what appeared to be a vacation. They could be seen kissing in a hotel room with red balloons around them and embracing in front of a pool.
