Mohamed Hadid Reflects on Fatherhood and Family Memories: “For Memories Only”

Mohamed Hadid, the proud father of models Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid, recently shared a candid look into his fatherhood journey and the cherished memories he's made with his children. The real estate mogul, who also has two adult daughters with his first wife, Mary Butler, has always been a devoted dad, and he recently took to Instagram to reminisce about the family’s former Los Angeles home, Le Belvédère.

The mansion, which sold in 2018, was a beloved space for the Hadid family and featured lavish amenities like 10 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a ballroom, a winery, and even a Moroccan-themed entertainment room. Mohamed posted several photos of the stunning estate, along with a nostalgic caption: "For memories only. Family home The house of HADID. Designed and built by M Hadid."

In a 2022 interview with Vogue, his daughter Bella Hadid reflected on her father’s extravagant decorating style, admitting she didn’t always understand his grand approach. "My dad didn't grow up with a lot at all, so to be very grand with everything he does — this was his way to make his father in heaven proud," she shared. "At that age, I didn't understand it. I just knew being in his houses didn't feel comfortable to me."

Despite the differences in their perspectives, it’s clear that family is everything to Mohamed. In a March 2024 interview with Us Weekly, he expressed his deep connection with all five of his children, revealing the advice he’s given them over the years: "I just tell them to be safe and be confident."

While he credits his kids’ amazing mothers for their upbringing, Mohamed also takes pride in the role he played. "I think they have great mothers. All of my kids, so they have a really good background. I made them that way. It was just...I did it by myself."

As the year came to a close, Mohamed shared a sweet tribute to his children, posting throwback photos and writing, “Happiest New Year to my kids. You make me proud every single day. Baba."

Despite his separation from Yolanda Hadid, Mohamed continues to celebrate their shared family moments, recently posting a heartfelt birthday message to her: "Happiest birthday to the amazing mother and a guiding light to our children. Beautiful inside and out. Health and joy. Love and respect Mohamed Hadid."
