Monica Garcia Files Appeal After $35,000 Judgment in Heather Gay’s Beauty Lab Lawsuit

When the news broke that Monica Garcia had been ordered to pay $35,000 to Heather Gay’s Beauty Lab + Laser, her lawyer vowed there’d be an appeal. Now, it looks like they’re sticking to that promise. New court documents show that the former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star is fighting back against the judgment. In the true spirit of Reality Von Tease, she’s not going down with a fight.

The ongoing legal battle between the former friends stemmed from unpaid bills Monica supposedly racked up at Heather’s infamous medspa. In the judgment, Monica was ordered to pay for the treatments she received, interest, and legal fees. To add insult to injury, they even tacked on a $15 late fee.

Immediately, Monica made it clear that she didn’t agree with that decision. The fact that the news arrived just days after the 2024 United States presidential election? That didn’t make it any easier to swallow.

“I would say that I was surprised by the disgusting, hateful comments online, rejoicing in my ‘downfall,’ but after seeing the decisions happening around us, I’m not surprised at all,” Monica wrote said at the time.

Meanwhile, her lawyer was busy drafting up a letter of appeal. According to The Sun, Monica and her lawyer, Larry Reed, filed a document stating that she “appeals the judgment in this case to the Utah Supreme Court.”

On November 19, the Utah Supreme Court moved the case back down to the Utah Court of Appeals, and they’re awaiting the next steps. In a statement, Larry said he felt confident about their chances in the appellate court.

“We are still confident of the result,” he told the outlet.
