Monique Samuels and Gizelle Bryant have come a long way.
Days ago, it was reported that Monique Samuels has returned for the upcoming season of “Real Housewives of Potomac.” Monique departed the show after Season 5. As longtime fans remember, Monique and Candiace Dillard Bassett were involved in an onscreen physical altercation. Monique left the show after Candiace and Gizelle Bryant refused to film with her. Gizelle even went so far as to hire a security guard. She told producers she felt unsafe around Monique.
Monique had her own concerns about the show back then as well. She felt like Gizelle was spearheading an attack on her marriage and family. So she left “Real Housewives of Potomac” to protect these things.
Since leaving RHOP, Monique has divorced Chris Samuels and did one season of “Love & Marriage: DC” before departing. Days ago, she broke down her reasons for returning to “Real Housewives of Potomac” to her Instagram followers. She said she has changed a lot since the events of Season 5. While PTSD kept her from returning to “Real Housewives of Potomac” previously, this time it felt right to come back to the show that gave her a platform to promote her businesses. Monique believes she has grown a lot, and returning to RHOP would be a true test of her evolution.
Interestingly enough, it appears Monique is being tested quite a bit already. Recently, footage was captured of cameramen filming Gizelle and Monique as they were preparing to film a scene together.
