Monique Samuels is playing coy about a possible return to The Real Housewives of Potomac.
According to a report published by People on Saturday, June 7, the reality TV star will return to the series for season 10. Production for the season has already begun in Maryland, and the show’s stars Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Dr. Wendy Osefo, Keiarna Stewart and Stacey Rusch have all been spotted filming.
“Monique’s in a totally different place now, and fans will see that,” a source told the outlet. “She’s excited to show who she is now — not as a wife, not as just a mom, but as a woman starting over and taking on life on her own terms.”
Monique has not publicly confirmed the report, but did share a video of herself set to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” on Instagram on Saturday — just as the rumors of her return hit a fever pitch.
Monique was first introduced to fans of the series when she joined the second season in 2017. She left the show after a dramatic conclusion to the fifth season that included a physical altercation with castmate Candiace Dillard Bassett. Monique attempted to pull Candiace’s hair during a wine tasting before later returning and attempting to continue the fight.
Both Monique and Candiace filed lawsuits against one another, but charges were ultimately dropped in both cases in December 2019.
In 2022, Monique and her then-husband Chris Samuels starred in the reality series Love & Marriage: DC. She spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about why she wanted to launch the show at the time.
“Because it’s real. It’s actually what I feel was meant for me — love and marriage,” Monique explained. “That was my reason for coming to reality TV. The platform that I was previously on — it didn’t really fit with that dynamic.”
The Mila Eve Essentials founder claimed the Bravo series was “toxic,” declaring that she had no regrets about leaving the show behind. “It was worth it to me because my peace means more to me than any show, any check, any person,” she told Us. “As I move forward I only do things that I feel, like, won’t interrupt my peace.”
Monique also referenced the fight with Candiace. “It was a growing moment. I am now in a position where I am fully aware of who I am,” she expressed to Us. “I know what my triggers are now after going through that, being in therapy, having a counselor, being open to a more spiritual journey has led me on a path to really know me.”
