Seems like the door may not be all the way closed on Nene Leakes’ return to Bravo TV’s “Real Housewives” franchise.
In a Friday interview with TMZ, the reality star was asked whether she could envision a grand comeback on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Her response?
“I don’t know. If the opportunity was right and the check was on point, why not?”
Leakes said that a surprising number of celebrities watch “Real Housewives.” Among them: “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo, who recently revealed to W Magazine that the show — especially the Atlanta and Potomac, Maryland, seasons — was one of her guilty pleasures.
“They’re very honest, which I like,” Erivo said of the series. “Also, there’s no fighting or fisticuffs, but they will read each other crazily. Atlanta definitely gets a little rowdy, though.”
The actor also expressed her admiration for Leakes in particular, and urged the show to “bring her back.”
During her “TMZ” interview, Leakes returned her adoration to Erivo and shared that “so many people” had sent her the W Magazine piece.
Leakes joined the show in 2008. In a candid YouTube video in 2021, the reality show star explained that she had been caught in “an extremely, extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation” with Bravo. She hinted that there were “a lot of emotions flying from both sides” during the process, and after much deliberation, made her decision to walk away from the show.
