What This Means For 9-1-1: Nashville
Blue Is Set To Be The Buck Archetype
There are bound to be a lot of differences between 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville, such as the importance of music, and its role in the show. However, there are also going to be similarities and archetypes that match throughout both shows, and the fact that Blue will mirror Buck is a great example of this.McVey's character, Blue, is described as "a haunted bad boy, now a firefighter," which is essentially the prototype of the character of Oliver Stark's fan-favorite, Evan "Buck" Buckley. Buck is the defacto lead of 9-1-1, and the character is hugely popular with audiences, as well as other characters within the show.
9-1-1: Nashville's story could be set to explore the background of its characters, and delve deep into the psyche of troubled individuals like Blue. His haunted bad boy archetype could see him in multiple romantic entanglements, as well as a strained relationship with his family, and difficulties with authority figures.
Our Take On How Blue Can Mirror Buck In 9-1-1: Nashville
Blue Is Sure To Evolve As The Show Progresses
How much of a prominent role Blue is going to play in 9-1-1: Nashville is unclear at this stage, but the character is sure to evolve as the show progresses. His character seems like he will be a blend between Buck and Bode from Fire Country - a former bad boy who also has a difficult past he is trying to escape.
