The video below puts Nashville at the forefront. It showcases the vibrant city, complete with its neon-lit streets, tall buildings, and bustling crowds. Of course, this is a breeding ground for emergencies, and the video shows emergency services responding to what appears to be a significant incident. From fire trucks to ambulances and helicopters, they are all headed to a single destination. In the foreground, a huge fire tornado moves at breakneck speed, leaving destruction in its wake. The video also introduces cast members while a singer rocks a country tune. "I fell into a ring of fire," she sings, as we finally arrive at the scene where the fire tornado has been resting. The teaser offers a sneak peek at what to expect, including massive emergencies and everything that makes Nashville unique.
Nashville Won Over the '9-1-1' Team for Several Reasons
Several major cities were in consideration as the next home for a new 9-1-1 spinoff. Ultimately, the team settled on Nashville. “One, I think that it’s a really interesting city with its own personality. It’s very unlike Austin. We did kind of a red state 9-1-1 [with Lone Star], but Austin is a very blue town. Nashville felt even a little bit more Southern. It also has the country music industry, and it just felt like it could be a fun place to set a piece of the franchise," executive producer Tim Minear told TV Line. He explained the second reason, saying:
“Quite frankly, Tennessee is very production-friendly. That also factored into our reasoning. There are some states that you think would be fantastic places to set the show, but it’s just not cost effective to do it.”
9-1-1: Nashville will air on ABC on the same night as the flagship series when the new season starts this fall. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
