New Jersey Devils Rookie Camp Roster Revealed

   

The puck is officially down… for rookies. The New Jersey Devils open their training camp today which is getting underway in Buffalo.

The Devils’ rookies will participate in the Prospect Challenge which will also feature rookies for the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators, and Columbus Blue Jackets.

The rookies will participate in two days of practice drills before the rookie tournament officially begins on September 13th through the 16th.

The official roster is as follows:

Forwards

Tag Bertuzzi, Cole Brown, Kocha Delic, Andre Ghantous, Max Graham, Jace Isley, Jack Malone, Matya Melovsky, Xavier Parent (A), Kaper Pikkarainen, Landon Sim, Cam Squires, Chase Stillman (A), Dylan Wendt

Defensemen

Seamus Casey, Mikael Diotte, Will MacKinnon, Igor Mburanumwe, Spencer Sova, Jackson van de Leest, Topias Vilen

Goaltenders

Tyler Brennan, Zach Pelletier, Isaac Poulter

Forward Josh Filmon will not participate in the Devils; rookie camp this fall. He suffered an upper-body injury and is considered week-to-week.

The Devils rookies will hit the ice today at 10:15 in Newark, New Jersey at RWJBarnabas Arena.

The roster consists of 14 forwards, seven defensemen and three goalies. Chase Stillman and Xavier Parent will serve as assistant captains.

Utica Comets head coach Kevin Dineen will serve as head coach of the rookie camp.

New Jersey’s rookies will participate in the prospect challenge in Buffalo this weekend. The schedule is as follows:

Fri. Sept. 13: Devils vs. Senators, 3:30 p.m.
Sat. Sept. 14: Devils vs. Sabres, 7 p.m.
Mon. Sept. 16: Devils vs. Bruins, 10 a.m.

Seamus Casey, as well as a handful of other rookies, are expected to participate in the NHL training camp which begins on Wednesday, Sept. 18th.

Devils Finnish prospect, Lenni Hameenaho, and Russian prospect, Anton Silayev, also won’t participate as their respective seasons are underway overseas.
