Happy 4th of July to all who are celebrating in 2025! This annual tradition brings plenty of cheer and delight around the United States of America. Fireworks are a major piece of the yearly feel of the holiday.
I decided to do a fun exercise with a handful of New Orleans Saints players for this year's celebration.
Comparing Saints players to different types of fireworks
I've gone through and compiled a list of players that match the characteristics of a particular firework in some capacity. Make sure you check out the description to fully understand
Demario Davis
A barrage. It's a consistent force every year for plenty of folks. A barrage is "a group of items fired all at once" (via Jake's Fireworks) and simply bring the boom. Davis is always looking to punish opposing offensive players in one way or another, either physically or mentally, to gain an edge for the Saints.
Rashid Shaheed
Firecracker. This one may be the simplest decision. Shaheed is a "boom" type of receiver that is always a threat to make a massive play happen.
Tyler Shough
Rolling thunder. Shough's impressive arm and stature can be really exciting when he's at his best. Usually, a roman candle is involved here, and that feels like an accurate asssessment for what Shough could turn out to be when it comes to his big play ability.
Alvin Kamara
Gotta go with a sparkler here. It is a bit flashy, but it also has the versatility that people of just about any age can enjoy it. Kamara has been a fan favorite for quite some time and hasn't truly lost a step yet.
Tyrann Mathieu
To me, a bottle rocket fit the Honey Badger best. It's is consistent, yet always a fan favorite for many families. It's safe and feels right at home.
Chris Olave
As smooth as it gets. Fountains are one of the most intriguing fireworks to watch on a yearly basis because they give you everything you want. Colors, a bit of sound, and some explosion. Olave's game is really well-balanced and well-rounded.
