New Orleans Saints release running back Jamaal Williams

NEW ORLEANS — Jamaal Williams’ time with the New Orleans Saints is officially over with the team announcing his release Tuesday afternoon.

Williams joined the Saints following a career campaign with Detroit in 2022, during which he rushed for 1,066 yards and led the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 17.

Williams has not seen a consistent workload with the black and gold, with just 420 yards on the ground and two rushing scores in two seasons.

He appeared in 27 games during that stretch.

While in New Orleans, Williams established himself as a fan favorite and exceptional addition to the Saints’ locker room.

His next stop would be his fourth franchise in year nine of his NFL career.
