The New Orleans Saints will need to find ways to maneuver the salary cap once again during this offseason. A decision on players like Cameron Jordan, Derek Carr, and others will make a huge impact.
Taysom Hill remains under contract, but his season came to a frustrating finish when he suffered a torn ACL against the Los Angeles Rams.
He should be healthy for next season, but there was some news regarding his current contract as it relates to how much he was paid for this past season. It's a unique situation, and the Saints are clearly rewarding Hill for how much he does for their team.
Taysom's deal
According to Katherine Terrell, Taysom will receive escalators from his contract for this past season. That shouldn't be the case, based on the fine print, but the Saints are still choosing to honor them - it appears.
Took a closer look at Taysom Hill's 250K salary escalator, which looks to be based on his 6 rushing touchdowns in 2024. We will see how much longer Hill plays in the NFL, but there is no signal to an end to his career soon. It is hard to see him playing for another organization to complete his career, and the Saints made a notable decision regarding his pay recently.
