Another week down for the New Orleans Saints and their offseason, and we're one week closer to the new league year.
The Saints have had some big happenings over the past week, and here's what you need to know to get caught up from last Saturday to today.
New Orleans Saints: Week In Review
Head Coach Update
Kellen Moore is considered the frontrunner for the Saints job, but nothing can happen until after the Super Bowl. The team actually flew to Philadelphia to conduct his in-person interview. Chris Olave seems to be a fan of Moore.
Mike McCarthy, Kliff Kingsbury and Joe Brady all withdrew from consideration. New Orleans completed an in-person interview with Mike Kafka, who said at the Senior Bowl this week that the process took about nine hours.
Saints Team News
The Saints lost some pieces this week. Klint Kubiak went to the Seahawks to be their new offensive coordinator, while Dave Ziegler left New Orleans to become the Titans general manager. Linebackers coach Michael Hodges went to the Bengals in a lateral move.
Meanwhile, running backs coach Derrick Foster was interviewed by the Cowboys, and quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko has interest from Seattle and was granted an interview by the Saints.
If Darren Rizzi does not get the head coach spot, then it's widely believed he'll join up with Sean Payton in Denver. Rizzi is waiting to see what happens.
The Senior Bowl saw the Saints send four assistants to help coach, which included Jahri Evans, Kevin Petry, Jordan Traylor and Adam Gristick.
Erik McCoy was named as a Pro Bowl replacement for Eagles Cam Jurgens. He's the only Saints representation.
Former Saints quarterback Jameis Winston will be among those in New Orleans during Super Bowl week, serving as a digital correspondent for FOX. He'll be giving his favorite dining and entertainment spots in NOLA.
The Saints announced an official sanctioning of Girls High School Flag Football this week.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio put out quite an interesting column this week that praised the long-term outlook for the Saints. It's worth a read, to say the least.
Mock Draft Season
NFL Analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks put out their first mock drafts, which saw the Saints taking Georgia defenders. Jeremiah went with Mykel Williams, while Brooks picked Jalon Walker.
ESPN's Mel Kiper picked Michigan cornerback Will Johnson for New Orleans, while Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling went with TAMU Edge Shemar Stewart for the Saints.
