New York Jets Add College Football Hall Of Famer To Aaron Glenn's Coaching Staff

As Aaron Glenn continues to build to his Jets coaching staff, the former Pro Bowl corner is adding a fellow star from his generation of DBs.

According to pro football writer Mike Mitchell, New York is hiring ex-Rams/Lions CB Dre' Bly — who also served as Detroit's cornerbacks coach under Glenn in the Motor City last year.

Bly himself was a two-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champ. And back in 2014, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Glenn already appears to be changing the culture in Gotham and players seem to be buying in quickly.

During an appearance on SiriusXM this week, Jets 2022 first-round pick Jermaine Johnson II predicted that big things were coming for the organization in the very near future.

"To have someone like that at the helm that hasn't only played and done it, hasn't only done it at a high level, hasn't only done in New York, hasn't only built it from the ground up, but also is a defensive mind," Johnson said.

"Obviously, I'm jumping for joy over here. And when I spoke to him, he believes everything I believed in. I'm really excited."

The Jets are in definite need of a cleanse after all that's transpired over the last couple years and hopefully Glenn is the answer to their troubles.

The team hasn't reached the postseason since the Rex Ryan era and has only posted one winning season since that 2010 AFC Championship Game appearance.

Bly should only add to New York's improvement as a player whose been there and done that at the highest level for a time. There'll certainly be no shortage of NFL experience on MetLife's sideline.
