New York Jets consider starting 2025 season with Tyrod Taylor as quarterback

The New York Jets' search for a new quarterback could end with them deciding that their best option is right under their nose.

New head coach Aaron Glenn has chosen to part ways with Aaron Rodgers after two seasons with the Jets, deciding that a fresh start was best for all concerned.

And after weighing up the quarterback market, Glenn and those around him in the upper echelons of the Jets organization are apparently happy to start the season with last year's No 2 QB, Tyrod Taylor.

Sportskeeda reported that Taylor is in the driving seat as it stands and that the Jets could take a quarterback on Day 2 of the NFL Draft later this year.

It would be a surprising decision by Glenn. There are options in free agency, such as Sam Darnold and Justin Fields - the former Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears signal caller has been linked to the Jets previously in the offseason.

Taylor, 35, has a 28-28-1 record as a starter and has thrown for 68 touchdowns and 29 interceptions in his career.
