Speaking with ScreenRant, however, Stark addressed how his character, Buck, was supposed to have a cameo in the Doctor Odyssey crossover episode. The actor explained how he'd agreed to the idea before behind-the-scenes changes made it so Athena would be the only character to show up. He said he can make an "educated guess" about what his story would have been had circumstances been different. Check out what Stark had to say below:
ScreenRant: I read that Buck was originally supposed to be in the Doctor Odyssey crossover. Is there anything you can share about what was originally pitched to you?
Oliver Stark: There was no pitch. Well, there was a pitch of, "Would you want to do this?" But no story pitch. I had said yes at the time, but obviously, things moved in a direction where it was just Angela's character. So yeah, I don't know what it would've been. Having seen some clips from the show, I can make probably somewhat educated guess as to what it might have been, but I have no real knowledge, so I'll probably leave it at that.
ScreenRant: That would've been fun. I would've loved to see Buck interact with those characters.
Oliver Stark: I'm sure I would've had a good time over there. Next time.
What Stark's Statement Says About His Scrapped Doctor Odyssey Appearance
He May Have Had More Than Just A Cameo
Our Take On Buck Almost Being In Doctor Odyssey's 9-1-1 Crossover
It Would Have Been Interesting To See Why He'd Show Up
Since Stark teased some differences had Buck shown up on the cruise ship, it's interesting to imagine what reason he'd have to show up there. However, Athena getting contacted by the FBI, per info about the crossover, may not have been how the firefighter ended up on the cruise ship himself. Although there's no answer as to how 9-1-1's crossover with Doctor Odyssey would have differed, it certainly would be intriguing to hear what stories had been considered for Buck during its development.
