Falcons CB Cobee Bryant listed among impactful UDFA signings
Prior to the 2025 NFL draft, the Atlanta Falcons spent much of their time scouting late-round prospects. That scouting paid off when the undrafted free agent signing period rolled around last weekend. The team signed 11 undrafted free agents, including a few with a real chance to make the 53-man roster this season.
Kansas cornerback Cobee Bryant and Oregon State offensive lineman Joshua Gray were among the players many expected to be selected on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL draft. Bryant was rated the 118th prospect on the Pro Football Focus big board.
Landing another playmaker in the secondary after drafting Xavier Watts and Billy Bowman is a huge win for Atlanta. Bryant is someone we included on our initial Falcons 53-man roster projection. One NFL analyst believes the former Jayhawks defensive back could be an impact player for Atlanta in 2025.
Pro Football Network named one undrafted free agent from each team who could make an impact and Bryant was the pick for the Falcons.
"Atlanta lacks depth at cornerback, and they were able to sign a player who most thought would get drafted," wrote PFN's Brandon Austin. "Cobee Bryant is a wiry but fiercely competitive cornerback with the instincts, ball skills, and confidence to influence games from Day 1. What he lacks in bulk, he makes up for in energy, anticipation, and a knack for creating turnovers. His 13 interceptions and 22 pass breakups in college didn’t come by accident."
It's rare to see a prospect as productive as Bryant fall out of the draft altogether. NFL teams are always looking for players who can take the ball away and it's hard to find many better than Bryant in this year's class. While the stats are nice, his technique is what really impressed PFN.
"Bryant consistently reads route combinations and quarterback intentions with veteran savvy, particularly in zone coverage where his football IQ shines," Austin continued. "While he may be overmatched at times by bigger receivers in man coverage, Bryant's ability to close quickly, disrupt throws, and create momentum-changing plays stands out."
The Falcons have had luck developing undrafted free agents before. Dee Alford went undrafted and he developed into the team's starting nickel cornerback over the last few seasons. It all comes down to attitude and work ethic, and Bryant isn't lacking in either.
"He’s an emotional tone-setter who refuses to back down, and that intensity is a quality that Raheem Morris should appreciate," concluded Austin.
