Insider names team that's received significant trade interest ahead of draft

All eyes could be on the Broncos during the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

With quarterbacks not named Cam Ward expected to fall into the 20s, Denver could have one of the most valuable picks in the first round.

On Thursday morning, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Broncos "have fielded calls in recent days" about potentially trading the No. 20 overall pick.

"The Broncos hold the draft slot in front of Pittsburgh's No. 21," Schefter added.

The Steelers are expected to consider a quarterback with their first-round pick, but Schefter's report suggests other teams are considering leapfrogging them to grab one sooner.

ESPN Giants reporter Jordan Raanan added context to Schefter's report, writing that "league sources ... believe the Giants and Browns both like Jaxson Dart."

"This would be a spot of interest for teams in the QB market," Raanan added.

The Browns (No. 33) and Giants (No. 34) hold the top two picks in the second round and would likely part with those in a trade for Denver's first-round pick.

The Broncos have been linked to North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton during the predraft process. If he's available at No. 20, Denver would have to think long and hard about moving back 13 or 14 spots and forgoing the chance of landing the talented skill-position player.

In 2024, Hampton gained 2,033 yards from scrimmage (1,660 rushing, 373 receiving) and scored 17 total touchdowns on 319 touches.

Viewed as the second-best running back in the 2024 class behind Boise State's Ashton Jeanty, Hampton likely won't be available at the start of Day 2.

The Broncos would need to receive a significant haul of picks for a deal to make sense, particularly if Hampton (or a top wide receiver or tight end) is available at No. 20. The Giants possess six picks in the first five rounds, and the Browns have 10 picks overall, giving each ample capital to entice Denver.

Will either offer enough? The NFL world will be watching to find out.
