NFL insider's update is bad news for the New Orleans Saints' chances to sign one of their best free agents

The New Orleans Saints will have plenty to decide this offseason. Along with the 2025 NFL Draft, free agency will be quite the ride for them.

NFL insider's update is bad news for the New Orleans Saints' chances to sign one of their best free agentsI wouldn't expect them to be super active, considering their salary cap, but they'll need to plug holes and provide depth with any veterans they bring back or add this offseason.

Cornerback Paulson Adebo is arguably the team's top free agent, entering this offseason. He missed most of this past season with a leg injury, but he's proven to be an improved, talented defensive piece over the past few seasons.

According to Jeremy Fowler, the CB will have plenty of suitors this offseason. Even after a major injury, the need for starting cornerback play is notable in both the NFC and AFC.

The Saints will have a lot of competition if they want to try to bring Adebo back for their CB room, alongside Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry.

Adebo would be in our top 20 if he hadn't suffered a broken femur in Week 7. He has the frame and traits to play press coverage, plus he can open and run when matching vertically on the perimeter. In four seasons with the Saints, Adebo has 10 interceptions and 23 pass breakups.

Multiple teams consider Adebo a top-three corner in the free agency class based on ability and upside. Adebo had no complications from his surgery, which included a rod being placed in the broken bone -- where there was a clean fracture -- to stabilize it. -- Jeremy Fowler

His health will certainly have important implications, but there's no reason to believe that Adebo won't be able to return to form following his surgery as of right now. We'll see if New Orleans is where he's playing or not.
