Kevin Weekes posted something to his X account indicating a potential contract extension between Igor Shesterkin and the Rangers.
Kevin Weekes of ESPN hinted at what a potential Igor Shesterkin will look like with the New York Rangers.
Weekes posted a picture of the New York city skyline with “$11.5?” caption indicating that Shesterkin could be set to sign a contract extension worth $11.5 million per season.
It was Weekes who initially reported prior to the start of the season that Shesterkin rejected an eight-year, $88 million contract from the Rangers, which would have made him the highest paid goalie in NHL history.
Since that point, Shesterkin has had a magnificent start to the year, recording a 6-2-1 record, 2.22 goals against average and .933 save percentage.
Weekes did not elaborate on his possible hint while there have been no other developments regarding any sort of progress being made on a contract extension.
