Nick & Vanessa Lachey Work Well Together

Nick and Vanessa Lachey met on MTV’s “Total Request Live” which Vanessa was hosting at the time and Nick was a member of the boy band 98 Degrees. Nick, who split from his first wife Jessica Simpson in 2005, began dating Vanessa in 2006.

The pair tied the knot in a lavish ceremony held on Sir Richard Branson’s private island in 2011 and have been happily married ever since. The couple has become a reality TV staple, co-hosting shows such as “Love is Blind,” “The Ultimatum,” and the first season of “Perfect Match.”

As for the key to balancing their work and personal lives, the Lachey’s follow what Nick called the “golden rule.” “The best thing you can do is not bring your work home with you. Which is tricky when you work with your spouse,” he shared on the “Richer Lives” podcast.

Nick Lachey’s Relationship Advice

After 14 years of wedded bliss, three children, and several TV shows, Nick and Vanessa clearly have what it takes to make their love stand the test of time. Nick’s advice on how to keep love alive in a marriage is pretty straightforward.

“Make time for each other,” the singer shared with People, adding, “make it a scheduled thing if you have to, but make sure you give that to each other.”

As for maintaining romance once children enter the picture, Nick admitted it can be a bit challenging. But he explained how he and Vanessa have handled it. “You have to make deliberate attempts because the spontaneity, the romance … that existed pre-kids, it just can’t exist the same way,” he said.
