Nick Robertson is an RFA, and after filing for salary arbitration, it's likely that his time in Toronto is coming to an end after plenty of drama in the past.
Heading into the 2024/25 campaign, many believed that Nick Robertson was likely to be traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs, but after signing a one-year extension with the team, he put that to bed and had a fantastic season.
In 69 games with the team, Robertson posted a career high 15 goals to go alongside 22 points, and while he wasn't the breakout star they had hoped for, he put together some solid games in his limited role.
However, things are set to change for the restricted free agent, as it has been reported that Robertson is one of 11 players on Sunday that officially filed for arbitration, meaning that things are about to change.

We know that Robertson was unhappy with his role heading into last season, and with just an $875,000 contract signed, he clearly wants an upgrade, but give his lack of overall production, it's safe to say that Toronto believe they can keep him for a very similar price.
Despite being a once promising prospect as a second-round pick, Robertson has struggled to take the next step, and as we've seen in the past, arbitration can fracture relationships, meaning that a bridge could be burned as a result this summer.
Ultimately, Robertson still has a bright future in the NHL and a role to play on whichever team he finds himself on, but with arbitration on the way, we'll need to sit back and see how things played out, as big changes could be coming.
