Game Recap

At 7:59 of the first period, Poehling scored his second goal in as many games with a one-timer in the slot after a Tavares turnover in the defensive end.

Tavares more than made up for it at 10:37, with his own shot from the slot, for his 31st goal of the season. Nylander scored on the power play five minutes later, with a wrist shot from the left circle that deflected off a defender and into the net.

Less than two minutes into the second frame, McMann scored his 20th of the season off a behind-the-net pass from Nylander with a snapshot that beat Ersson glove-side.

After winning a chase for the puck behind the Flyers’ net, Matthew Knies rang the puck around the boards to Mitch Marner, who found Tavares by himself in front of the net, and he put his second of the night past Ersson and the Maple Leafs up 4-1.

Nylander joined Tavares in the two-goal club at 11:55 with a wrist shot from the high slot that beat Ersson blocker-side for his 40th goal of the season.

Kampf capped off a four-goal second period for the Maple Leafs on a breakaway with a slick backhand-forehand move through the five-hole for his fifth of the season and first in 12 games.

Couturier stopped the bleeding with a tip-in goal off a Jamie Drysdale shot from the point.

At 11:32 of the final 20 minutes, Max Domi put the icing on the cake with his seventh of the season, which put the Maple Leafs up 7-2.

The Maple Leafs were a perfect 1-for-1 on the power play and outshot the Flyers 30-19. The Flyers were 0-for-1 on the man advantage.
