The end of an era hit Loveland, Colorado on Tuesday afternoon.
Elliotte Friedman of the 32 Thoughts Podcast postulated on June 15th's episode that Colorado Eagles head coach Aaron Schneekloth may join the Seattle Kraken organization as an assistant coach this upcoming season.
The official announcement came on Tuesday, announcing that Schneekloth has been one of the hires to fill out Head Coach Lane Lambert's coaching staff, along with Chris Taylor, former assistant coach for the New Jersey Devils, and Colin Zulianello, former goaltending coach for the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds from 2022-2025. Jessica Campbell is the only assistant coach to remain on their staff heading into the 2025-26 season.
Schneekloth spent 19 years with the Eagles organization, seven as a player and 12 as a member of the coaching staff. He's spent four total years as a head coach of the organization, two of which date back to the team's time in the ECHL and resulted in back-to-back Kelly Cup Championships. His most recent season spearheading the bench resulted in the team's first division title as an AHL team.
The team also saw the departure of associate head coach Dan Hinote to the Tampa Bay Lightning on June 6th. They will now be searching to fill two coaching vacancies ahead of the 2025-26 season.
