Chicago P.D. just dropped a subtle (but spicy) development that has fans buzzing — and yes, it looks like romance might finally be on the horizon for the last two single members of the Intelligence Unit.

In the final episodes of Season 12, viewers began noticing an increase in screen time — and tension — between Dante Torres and Kiana Cook, both of whom have remained romantically unentangled while their teammates settled into serious relationships or emotional fallout. But now? Sparks are starting to fly.

From lingering glances across the bullpen to surprisingly personal conversations during cases, the chemistry is undeniable — and according to showrunner Gwen Sigan, it’s no accident.

“We’ve always known these two would have an interesting dynamic,” Sigan teased. “They come from different worlds, but they both carry the same kind of emotional armor. That makes for a very compelling slow burn.”

While nothing has been officially confirmed (yet), fans are already shipping the duo — some calling them “TorCook,” others jokingly labeling them “the last hearts standing.”

Critics are also applauding the pacing. Rather than rush into a relationship, Chicago P.D. is taking its time building real emotional groundwork — a refreshing change in a TV landscape filled with forced love triangles and rushed hookups.

Still, if Torres and Cook do cross the line into romance, it won’t come without complications. Both are fiercely independent, still navigating their place on the team, and reeling from past trauma — exactly the kind of slow-burn, messy setup Chicago P.D. fans live for.

Season 13 could very well be the year Intelligence’s quietest duo becomes its most surprising couple.
