This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

Following the tragic 9-1-1 death of fire station captain Bobby, Buck's mentor and father figure, there is a power vacuum that will need to be filled, and Buck would naturally be a contender for the position. And now Stark has given his views on whether Buck would be the right man for the job.

Per TV Insider, Stark confirmed that Buck's natural personality would feel at odds with the responsibility that comes with being captain. He discusses how Buck would struggle as captain not being the one who gets to do all the "cool" stuff. Stark confirms that sending Buck down the route of becoming captain would present plenty of difficulties. Check out Stark's comments below:

“I think the thing that he would struggle with the most being captain is not being the one that does the cool stuff, right? As captain, you’re not necessarily the one that’s meant to do the rope rescue or running first to the fire, and I think we’ve seen that that is very much Buck’s nature. So I see some difficulties if he ever went down that route in that sense.”

"I Predict Some Issues": 9-1-1 Star Oliver Stark Believes One Thing Would Make Bobby's Replacement A Bigger Problem For Buck

EXCLUSIVE: 9-1-1 star Oliver Stark gives his opinion on how his character Buck is set to respond to a new captain at the 118 following Bobby's death.

Buck is the type of firefighter who likes to throw himself into situations and immerse himself in his role, and this would be antithetical to being in a position of seniority, which is more about delegation. Stark's comments about Buck are entirely correct, and show that the character's 9-1-1 season 9 evolution might be a little more subtle.

Bobby Is A Big Loss, But Buck Needs To Move On In His Own Way

While it's clear that Bobby is going to need to be replaced in 9-1-1, Buck is not the right choice for that, and it would feel wrong for his character to make that step. Ultimately, Bobby had one of the most tragic deaths in 9-1-1, and it will take a long time for the 118 to move on from this; Buck needs to do this in his own way.

Buck can move past this by doing what he has always done, and focusing on what brings balance to his life-saving people. There is, of course, the risk of more reckless behavior this time around, which is also a reason why Buck will not make a good captain choice, and he will need to find his own path to peace in 9-1-1 moving forward.
