It’s always great to see good actors land more roles, and that’s certainly the case with the cast of 9-1-1.
Now her role on 9-1-1 season 9 is at risk, but it’s for a great reason. Thoms has landed a role in a major movie, which could lead to scheduling conflicts — at least for the start of 9-1-1 production.
9-1-1's Tracie Thoms Confirmed She's Shooting The Devil Wears Prada 2
Tracie Thoms Played Lily In The Devil Wears Prada
Many have asked whether Thoms would return for The Devil Wears Prada 2, which is officially happening 20 years after the original movie. For the longest time, she’s had to lie or change the subject, but now she has finally had the chance to tell the truth.
Peter Krause was an invaluable member of the 9-1-1 cast, but there's one change season 9 could make to truly preserve Bobby Nash's legacy.
Lily did stick around at the magazine after the events of the first episode, and she will be there for the sequel. Thoms took to Instagram to share the exciting news about The Devil Wears Prada 2. She even used the hashtag #TheRealVillainsOfTheDevilWearsPrada as a nod to how she played one of the most hated characters in the movie.
Thoms Will Likely Film Both Devil Wears Prada 2 & 9-1-1 Season 9
There May Be Some Early Scheduling Conflicts
The good news is that Karen should still be around, but we may not see her at the beginning of the season. The Devil Wears Prada 2 has started filming and is expected to remain in production for three months.
Because of that, there will likely be a small clash in schedules as 9-1-1 season 9 production has also started, but if the two production companies work together, there are ways to make schedules work.
It’s not like she hasn’t filmed two projects at once, as Thoms filmed guest roles on Station 19 at the same time as guest roles on 9-1-1. The benefit of her being a recurring character is that she doesn’t need to be in every episode, so with hope, we’ll at least see her toward the end of 9-1-1 season 9.
