One Chicago Star Sets TV Return With Tracker-Like Crime Series
As one of the longest-running and most popular stars in the One Chicago franchise, there's excitement for Spiridakos' new endeavor. She brought heart, vulnerability, and depth to the character of Hailey, and her Chicago P.D. season 11 departure was a big blow for the show and the franchise as a whole.
Per Deadline, Spiridakos is set to play the leading role in Anna Pigeon, based on the novels by Nevada Barr. The show is under development from showrunner Morwyn Brebner, who has previously created Rookie Blue and Saving Hope. Ana Pigeon will be the second original series from the USA Network, after the adaptation of The Rainmaker.

Spiridakos Is The Perfect Choice To Lead The Show
Anna Pigeon's story follows Spiridakos' titular park ranger who focuses on solving crimes in national parks, after a devastating loss that changes the course of her life. The description of the show is similar to Justin Hartley's Tracker, as well as Netflix's slow-burn wilderness murder mystery Untamed.
Before Hailey Upton in Chicago PD season 11, the show introduced a new character who seemed like she would replace her, but she’s absent in season 12.

The Show Can Build On What Has Come Before
The success of shows like Tracker and Untamed has laid the groundwork for what could make Anna Pigeon a long-term success. It is interesting to see USA Network continuing to branch out and try new and original shows, and this is another on their roster that could become a big hit, particularly if it has the right release date.
The creative direction of Anna Pigeon will be interesting, and the show might choose to adopt the dark tonality of Tracker season 2, while also utilizing the surrounding landscape as a character in and of itself, like Untamed does. There is no doubt that Anna Pigeon has all the ingredients to be a big hit, and Spiridakos' involvement can only help.
