One of Emmerdale’s most beloved marriages crashes in devastating split

The night of the big Emmerdale car crash didn’t just see the deaths of three beloved locals, it saw a marriage once as solid as the Woolpack, crack like the ice under the limo.

As all the lads got geed up for a Valentine’s night out, Caleb Miligan (William Ash) coldly revealed to the group that there was a cheater amongst them – his own brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).

After Caleb nearly drove off the road in rage, the lads stepped out the car to have it out, with Caleb lamping Cain for his betrayal.

On return to the village, Caleb went home to tell Ruby their marriage was over, only for him to do a U-Turn when a broken Ruby (Beth Cordingly) explained what led to her awful mistake.

Cain, meanwhile, returned to the farm to confess his indiscretion having been left with no choice after Caleb told all the Dingles, and Moira’s son Matty.

At first, Moira (Natalie J Robb) thought he was about to tell her that he’d attacked someone like he did Jimmy (Nick Miles) when Moira was sick. She had not been prepared to hear the scummy betrayal he made while she was having brain surgery.

Not long after the bombshell was dropped did Moira’s daughter-in-law Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) die after becoming severely hyperthermic having fallen through the ice after the limo crash.

Now Moira is faced with supporting her grieving son Matty (Ash Palmisciano) while coming to terms with her own loss.

But as a little time has passed, Moira starts to see clearly, she reclaims her strength, and she makes a definitive decision about their future – it’s over, and she wants Cain to leave.
