The pressure might not be mounting on Jordan Love just yet, but the 2025 NFL season could shape up to be a pivotal one for the Packers’ quarterback.
Already with a contract that makes him among the highest-paid players at his position across the league, in tow, and with a young crop of skill position players around him, expectations are high that Love can return to form this season after muddling through an injury-filled 2024 campaign.
After guiding the Packers to the brink of an NFC Championship Game appearance in 2023, Love passed for 3,389 yards while seeing his touchdown passes dip to 25 and tossing 11 interceptions last fall while dealing with nagging foot injuries throughout the season.
Packers’ Jordan Love Misses Cut Among Top-10 Quarterbacks
As the 2025 NFL season approaches, ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler released his latest survey of league executives, scouts, and coaches on the top-10 quarterbacks across the league.
Fowler’s sources placed Love outside of the top-10, with the Packers’ star garnering honorable mention status.
“Love appeared ready for top-10 status by the end of 2023.,” Fowler writes of Love. “‘He was f—ing outstanding,’ an NFL personnel evaluator said about that stretch. ‘Play-action on time, big arm, confidence.’ That shifted slightly in 2024, due in part to a Week 1 knee injury that cost him two games. ‘It looked like it took him time to work through managing that injury,’ the personnel evaluator said. ‘Another full offseason with [head coach Matt] LaFleur and more receiving options and he’ll be fine.'”
The league insiders seem convinced that Love will not only return to his pre-injury form but that the 2025 season represents an opportunity for him to take a major leap.
After the Packers added first-round rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden and third-round pick Savion Williams, the 26-year-old Love may have hist most well-rounded supporting cast of weapons, to date.
If Love makes the kind of jump in his development in 2025 that NFL coaches and executives suggest he’s capable of, the Packers could be a team on the rise this fall.
