Packers optimistic about Carrington Valentine, depth at cornerback - Yahoo Sports

Green Bay Packers rookie cornerback Carrington Valentine is already making plays — but not just on the field.

This week, Valentine made a surprise visit to a local children’s hospital in Wisconsin with arms full of PlayStations, Nintendo Switches, and handheld consoles for kids battling long-term illness. “I just wanted them to feel like champions too,” he told a nurse.

He spent hours going room to room, playing video games with patients, signing footballs, and simply talking — not as an NFL player, but as a friend.

“He asked each child their favorite game and played with them until they smiled,” one staff member said. “He wasn’t here for headlines. He was here to connect.”

One parent shared that their child hadn’t smiled in weeks — until Carrington joked that he “got smoked in Mario Kart by a 9-year-old.”

The act went viral after a staff member posted a photo with the words, “He didn’t just bring games. He brought joy.”

Packers fans are already praising Valentine not only for his promising camp performance, but for the heart and humility he’s brought to Green Bay. “He’s already one of us,” one fan wrote. “This is what being a Packer means.”
