Paige DeSorbo Explains Why She Labeled Herself the "Breadwinner" in Craig Conover Relationship

The Summer House cast member addressed her previous remarks about her relationship during an appearance on WWHL

Paige DeSorbo is doubling down on her bold financial claim. During her April 23 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Summer House cast member addressed the “No. 1 question” submitted by fans: Was she really the “breadwinner” in her relationship with Southern Charm’s Craig Conover?

“Wait, this is so crazy that so many people were appalled at this,” Paige said.

“Well, I don’t know if they’re appalled,” host Andy Cohen replied. “I think they just want to know.”

“Well, yeah,” Paige said in response to the question. “But I work more, so why would I not be?”

Paige reiterated her comment after a successful podcast tour and the release of How to Giggle: A Guide to Taking Life Less Seriously. Both projects were collaborations with Paige's good friend/former Summer House castmate, Hannah Berner.

Split of Paige Desorbo and Craig Conover

The Hamptons Housemate gave herself the “breadwinner” title in Summer House Season 9, Episode 9, when she expressed her concerns and frustrations over her relationship with Craig. Paige said her then-boyfriend wasn’t supportive of her career and questioned if he had an issue with her increasingly busy work schedule.

Ciara Miller reassured Paige she wasn’t overreacting and claimed Craig was giving off “hater boyfriend energy.”

“Why should you have to dim your light just to make him feel comfortable?” Ciara said. “It doesn’t make sense to me. Will it be like that even if you guys are married? Like, what does that look like? Is he thinking that you’re gonna stop doing what you’re doing? You’re gonna change your plan? You’re [gonna] do less tours, work less?”

Paige agreed, claiming that her and Craig’s lifestyles would completely change if she ever stopped working. She said her and Craig’s financial dynamic was another reason why she didn’t want to relocate to his home in Charleston, as it would make more sense for him to move to New York City, where she’s primarily based.

“I’m the breadwinner [in the relationship, as opposed to Craig] so why the f—k would [he] not move to me?” she said. “That would just be stupid, logistically.”
